Free Solid Methods To Generate Massive Web Traffic

There are many ways to generate traffic for your website. Some of these may require you to spend some money, such as advertising with search engines like Google or Yahoo. These methods are surely effective, but advertising expenses can amount to a lot, especially over long periods of time. Some businesses, especially smaller ones or those just starting out, may not have the resources to finance an extended deal with these advertising services.

Fortunately, there are also a lot of traffic generation methods that will not require you to spend a single cent! Of course, it goes without saying that these methods will need you to work hard and persevere to obtain real results. And if you want to obtain quick and easy results, well, to be honest paid advertising is still the way to go. However, you can really save a lot using these free methods, and they will also eventually give you results. If you are not afraid to work hard to increase your website traffic, then read on.

Use online forums and communities to your advantage. These are usually already quite established, with large and active memberships. The nice thing about these communities and forums is that you can specifically target your desired demographic, simply by choosing the right forums to advertise on. You will be able to discuss some of the things that are specific to your business's niche. These forums can also be a way to get information about your target demographic!

Newsletters are another free method of increasing traffic to your website. Provide a catalog of your products and services, as well as articles that are both interesting and entertaining. Providing good articles and information is essential, if you want a lot of people to sign up for your newsletter. If your newsletter is really excellent, they may even recommend it to their friends, increasing your traffic even further!

Write articles that will catch the attention of those people most likely to have an interest in your product. Examples of such articles include guides and lists of tips targeted towards aficionados and fans of your particular product or field. Helpful and informative articles will pay off with increased traffic, as readers recognize the value of the content you are putting out.

You can either post these articles directly on your website, or you can use the many sites that offer free posting of any articles that you submit. These sites can provide greater exposure for your articles. With good quality articles, readers will most likely be more interested in your company. So be sure to include a link to your site and a brief description of your company with any articles you submit to other sites.

Good content for your site, as mentioned before, is important. Another factor that you should consider regarding these articles is their keyword and keyword phrase content. By including the appropriate search engine terms for your company in your articles, you increase your website's ranking in most search engines, and thus draw more traffic.

These free methods are sure to generate traffic for your website if you keep working at them. Nobody said that increasing traffic to your website should be easy. But with enough effort and determination, you can increase traffic to your site without having had to spend anything!

How To Conquer Google

Think about it, with Google's ever-changing algorithms; how can you feel secure about the ranking of your website? It may be looking good in its SERPs (search engine results pages) today, but how about after the next algorithm update. Can you really expect that your site to have that same position or better? Many website owners and their webmasters are finding Google and its page ranking procedures to be quite confusing. They are finding unexplained and unexpected changes in the positioning of their websites in the Google search engine database. Some owners are finding their once high-ranking site much lower in the the Google SERP's after one of search engine's periodic algorithm updates. This usually means a big reduction in the website's revenues which means lower sales and possible failure of their business.

Google holds the fortunes of most websites in its hand, and with its constant algorithm updates who can be sure of their website's search engine results? The smart businessman would be wise to look beyond Google as his sole means of business promotion. For if he or she fails in this area; they will most certainly have a business casualty. All business people should be researching other means of marketing to insure a successful business endeavor online.

That being said, Google is not the only way of gaining exposure for your website. You can implement strategies that will lessen the ability of the Google giant to control your internet venture. These techniques do require effort, but you can master them with patience and determination. Here are some of the most effective ways to get visitors and potential customers to your website:

1. Forums - forums are a great way to acquire targeted traffic to your web presence. Forum participants are people with interests similar to yours. In a forum you will be able to engage in discussions on subjects related to your business. You can network with individuals knowledgeable about the field you are in. These people can and will provide helpful information on topics of interest to you. You can also share your knowledge with the group. Some may become customers or mentors; overall, you are sure to make contacts and get visits to your site. To get visitors, remember, you need to include your website's URL in your signature(your name or I.D. with your company's URL included) when you post a comment.

2. Email - put your signature on all of you email correspondence. This is a nice way to promote your site in a very sutle and effective manner. The recipient will almost always take notice of your included web address and go to those emails if ever desiring to contact your site. The email will serve as an unnoticable marketing tool.

3. Online classified ad sites - place classified ads with various online classified ad sites. Sites like Craigslist.com can be used to generate traffic to your website by presenting products and services you have to thousands of potential customers. Be sure to look into these, for some of them are totally free.

4. Reciprocal linking - get backlinks from other sites in your field. Find sites that provide similar products and services to yours, but it's best to make sure these products and services don't directly compete with what you provide. That may not always be possible but always try to do it that way. Less competition is always good. If this can't be done, just remember, a link from a site in your category will most certainly be of value to your website. You could receive visitors from your link on their site. So, be willing to cross-promote with other websites, it usually turns out as a benefit to your site and vice-versa.

5. Social community sites - this is one of the single most effective new developments on the internet landscape. These sites are sprouting up all over the world-wide web. New and interesting communities are being created constantly, with people gathering to share their thoughts on a variety of topics, from animal care to WAHM(work at home). Joining these groups you a sure to find many like-minded people who will become your internet friends. You can receive helpful advice, and entertaining conversation on these social sites. Myspace, Mybloglog, Mylot, Facebook and others, are getting lots of visitors and are growing larger day by day. Get in and get connected.

6. Bookmarking sites - sites like Digg.com, Stumbleupon.com and Reddit.com can send you literally thousands of visitors. There are webmasters who specialize in producing information and articles to submit to these sites in an effort to promote their websites. An enticing piece of information on one of these sites will cause a stream of prying eyes to your website. Some of the visitors will continue to visit your site which can mean a constant improvement in your site's readership. Register with them and see an increase in your site's popularity.

Now, as you can see - there are ways to get around Google. It can be done, but you are going to have to work to make it happen. Google is a very valuable giant to have on your side, and we all know that. But letting this giant control the total well-being of your website can be foolhardy. As I've said above: Google updates its methods of calculating search engine rankings constantly. You are; therefore, at its mercy regarding your website's visibility - you maybe sitting high in the SERPs today - but what about tomorrow? Do the things suggested above to insure a more controllable website marketing future for your business. Use the information and enjoy the rewards!

Online Classified Ads Can Drive Web Traffic to Your Websites If Used Effectively

Not many people are aware of the power of online classified advertisements, both to drive traffic to your web site, and in the case of new web sites, to get them indexed quickly with the search engines.

If your not convinced that online classified Advertisements are worth investigating, consider that eBay have recently released an online classified service, and posting a classified ad on their can almost guarantee a new web site getting indexed by the major search engines within twenty four hours!

In the case of eBay, they offer a lot more than the traditional text ad, they also offer full multimedia options (video and audio), and are happy for you to link directly to your website from your ad, and to even show an email address. They do not allow this on their traditional eBay auctions.

I'm sure you will agree that eBay would not launch a new service unless they felt they could make money out of it (and lots of it!).

The real win is that the search engines absolutely love eBay content, and are checking many, many times per day or even hourly for new ads.

Thinking laterally you could use this to launch a website and get your website indexed in a day or so by the search engines. Contrast that with how long indexing can take with using other methods (weeks and months in some cases).

Now because it's relatively new, only certain categories with eBay currently allow Classified Ads but you can be sure this will grow over time.

The great thing about eBay is that you pay a fixed price for the classified ad to have it listed for around a month (or you can define a shorter period). Potential customers fill out a form on your classified ad page and the details are forwarded to you, Alternatively you can have a link to your sales page and the customer can navigate directly there.

Of course eBay is not the only classified Ads site, pretty well the biggest site for classified ads is craigslist.org (incidentally eBay owns a 25% stake in this company).

Craig Newmark (the owner) started the site in San Francisco (indeed when you surf over to craigslist.org you start off in this area).

However it has grown to include all states in America, as well as many countries including Australia, Canada, Mexico, Sweden, the UK and many more.

Once you hit the website you can easily select the area you want to focus on.

If your marketing a new product, craigslist.org can be an excellent way to attract customers.

Most of Craiglist classified ads stay online and available for up to 45 days, so you get great value in leaving them up. And just like eBay, the search engines love Craigslist as well, and you will find your website is indexed VERY QUICKLY after you post.

Craigslist has some important posting rules you need to be aware of, so be sure to read the help section so you know exactly what the rules are.

If your providing a link to your website from the ad, make sure it works!

The good thing about Craigslist is that unlike most other classified Ad websites, they place NO LIMIT on the space you can use for your ad, so get creative, get your text rich and compelling and get people pumped up to click your link and find out more about you.

Now we have discussed eBay Ads and Craiglist, as to me they are two most important places you want to be listed, but there are literally thousands of other classified ad websites you should consider.

Don't ignore classified ads; they can dramatically increase web site traffic.

My Review - Diary of Build A Niche Store From Ebay

5/31/07

It has been about 2 weeks and my two sites have seen very little traffic. Admittedly, I have not done very much to promote them. I do have one GPS article on Ezinesarticles.com pointing to one of the sites and I have a couple of Squidoo lenses pointing to them as well. I also submitted both sites to the PR4 and 5 sites using the directory submitter I spoke about in the last post. No real results so far however. Total Adsense and Ebay commissions around $7.00.

6/7/07

I have made about $51.00 now in Adsense and Ebay commissions for my two sites. My GPS site has about 35 incoming links and a someone signed up to Ebay through my store for which I got $25.00! Now I just need more of those - lots more. One thing I have noticed is that my banner ads are getting virtually no clicks at all. For my two sites I think I have over 1000 impressions with maybe 1 click. In response to that I have made my GPS site a two column site as I took out the right side ad column. I am hoping the viewer will be less distracted and now be immediately drawn to the Ebay items and click on them. We shall see as I will be watching

6/9/7

The new manual is out and what a difference between that and the first one! Wow. Lots of pictures and step by step instructions make this manual 10 times better than the first one. I would have saved so much time and confusion if I had this one when I tried to install my sites. Two more manuals are on the way (I hear one of them about how to get much needed traffic) so now is a great time to buy Build A Niche Store. One thing I have requested is that they put out instructions on how to get BANS into a Wordpress template. The templates that are provided with BANS are OK but not as nice as what can be done with Wordpress.

Affiliate Marketing Ideas that Will Skyrocket Your Income

Making money from affiliate programs can be a lot more difficult than some people make it out to be. The dollars roll in like... like... well, a lot like molasses. But there are quite a few people quietly making tens of thousands per month and not broadcasting it or hyping up some new product with "screenshots" of Commission Junction checks. How do they do it? How do you get past the mediocrity that 99% of affiliate marketers end up being? Some of the most successful, so-called "super affiliates" have a few things in common.

One of the biggest is that they market in a terrific niche. I see over and over again people designing affiliate sites on "fitness equipment" and "online games" and "candles." Good work, and some good ideas, but the money probably won't flow well in niches like these.

Why?

Two reasons. One, you have to find a niche where people are spending money regularly and consistently on related products. And two, the products within this niche must be easy for people to buy online.

And what do I mean by "easy to buy online?" I mean put yourself in your potential visitor's shoes. You see a site giving you great information on a particular kind of elliptical machine. You find the site full of great tips and suggestions for exercise plans and such, and you agree that this machine would be great for you. Now, do you buy this machine from the suggested online fitness store? Or do you think it will be easier to run down to your local sporting goods store and just pick it up tonight, and not pay any shipping price on it? And that way you even get to really put your hands on it and try it out to see if you like it first...

There are some products that just don't work well online. Or more accurately, just don't flow that well online. A lot of product searches found in the keyword research tools are just info-seekers. They want to know things about a product before actually going to their store and buying it.

So, in short, find a niche that you know is full of "money." Then, using a combination of your brain and your Internet researching abilites, see if the products in this niche are popular to purchase ON THE INTERNET. Stay away from furniture and fitness equipment and shoes and clothes and... you get the idea. Once you do this, you'll be halfway there. The next step is to produce a site that has a certain "quality" to it that gets visitors to love it and the search engines to follow suit.
